The Urchin was designed as a complimentary piece to the Starfish; so it was masculine, small, jerky and frightened of light.

We built a cabinet to contain the work with an attached torch. If left alone the Urchin would go into a bio-luminescent phase where it drifts around looking for somebody to play with. Too much light saw the Urchin lose limbs but it could grow them back slowly.
